Our Trapani wineries are equipped with the most up-to-date technology in the wine-making field. They are able to bring out the best in the excellent raw product coming in from the organically-run Firriato vineyards in the Trapani agricultural area and Favignana.
At the heart of a visit to the Trapani winery is the wine cellar where our great Cru wines and some of the most iconic Firriato wines are refined. The tour is accompanied by the company oenologist, who is ready to illustrate and explain all the production techniques used to our visitors.
The Trapani winery was built in the 1980s by the will of Salvatore Di Gaetano, the founder, together with his wife Vinzia Novara Di Gaetano, of the Firriato brand.
The winery rises majestically in Paceco at the gateway to the town of Trapani. The scenographic wine cellar can be found on the ground floor. It houses about 700 barriques and a large table in fine wood for the guided tastings. It is also possible to visit the vinification machinery and bottling plant on the same floor. Both are equipped with the latest technology and operating systems. The upper floor houses, instead, the administration, marketing, and export offices.
Great wines from the Firriato range are born here in the Trapani wineries, excepting those from our line of volcanic wines which are produced in the Cavanera winery on Etna. On a visit to the Trapani winery you can retrace the stages of the birth of some of the icons of the Firriato label: Santagostino, Harmonium, Camelot, Ribeca and Ecrù —names which have entered Firriato into the history books, writing some of the most beautiful entries on modern Sicilian oenology.
